"This is it!" Finn said, totally ecstatic about the start of his journey. He took in one of the biggest breaths ever, tasting the earthy, pine-like air. The trainer had found the path known as the Terroc Trail, it passed Fanid Village and lead to the Deacon Forest, or so that's what he was told. Finn was also told that there were a few smaller forests set across the trail, but now that he had his new Ralts he was ready.
The young, Feelings Pokemon strutted confidently alongside his trainer, swinging his arms in delight. He turned to his trainer with a joking grin, "If this is all we're going to be doing, I'd rather just go stay at the lab!" His little Ralts was so far the polar opposite of many Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir, and Gallade he had met. They tended to be a bit on the shyer side and kept more to themselves, but not his Beau. He was so far a confident, little handful.
Both trainer and Pokemon were chuckling together at the Feeling Pokemon's sarcastic joke, so far things were looking good for Finn and Beau. The two got along very well and their attitudes meshed, Finn hoped that meant they would be able to sync in a battle too.
Nearing a small patch of trees and bushes the two slowed their pace as this meant an encounter with wild Pokemon was more likely. Beau, being a brand new Pokemon meant his moveset was limited, so Finn didn't want to take any chances with his little partner. "Let's be careful, Beau."

Flabébé - Female - Lvl 3
She stared up at the strange, green-haired creature as he approached her. They were so much bigger than she had thought they were, and she was so tiny. Flabébé were very tiny Pokémon, after all, and she was still little more than a baby.
But she had spent so much time play-battling her sisters, and so much time losing to them. She had battled the other Pokémon in the forest. The had even practiced against little rocks. And yet, she could not win. Her sisters would always brush her off, and the other Pokémon in the woods beat her so easily, it was as if they were brushing off a little Bug-type Pokémon. The last rock she had practiced on had fallen over her and pinned her beneath it, and she was too tiny and weak to lift it off. Even her cries were too small to attract other Pokémon. It was only pure chance that her mother had passed through the clearing and seen her crushed there.
That was why she was going to challenge a trainer. She wanted to be stronger; she didn't want to be the little one that everyone picked on. If she beat a trainer's Pokémon, she would be much more powerful.
But...they were so big and scary-looking.
No! No, there was no time to be scared! Just do it without thinking!
She rushed out of the grass. "I-I challenge you!" she squeaked, her little voice trembling. She was already regretting this.

"I accept your challenge!" Beau roared, lunging his tiny body towards the even smaller Flabébé. The Feeling Pokemon sensed that his opponent was already low on morale, so he was going to use it to his advantage. "Come on, Finn! Let's show this guy how strong I am!"
With a proud smile, Finn nodded in agreement. "You got it buddy! Let's start this off with a growl!" The green-haired trainer pointed towards the small Flabébé as his Ralts did it's best to intimidate it with a loud growl. "Follow up with a Confusion, no hesitation!"
"Try this on for size, flower girl!" The Ralts growled, as it began glowing in a light blue aura. Beau waved his tiny hands at the Bloom Pokemon as it began glowing in the same shade of light blue. It swatted it's hand, throwing his opponent to the ground.
Finn was pretty impressed with how Beau was handling himself in battle, but this was just their first battle, and it was just the beginning of the battle, so the two still had a bit to go. "Don't get ahead of yourself, Beau! Keep your head up!"

Flabébé - Female - Lvl 3 The Flabébé let out a tiny squeak of fear as the trainer's Ralts surged forward and growled intimidatingly. "No, please, don't hurt me!" she cried. This was an awful idea.
Then, she felt herself being lifted into the air and thrown back down again by the Pokémon's Confusion attack, which sent her into a coughing fit when the wind was knocked out of her.
Finally, she managed to regain her breath, but she was still on the edge of tears. This was hard! She wanted to go home! Why had she come up with this plan? It was obvious that she wasn't strong enough to beat him. She wasn't strong enough to beat anyone. She would always just be the weakling in her family...
No! She didn't want to be like that! She couldn't give up just yet! She wouldn't go home a failure. She couldn't. She would prove everyone wrong!
Determination flashed in her eyes, though there was trepidation as well. She would fight! She clung to her flower a little tighter, then whirled it to face the trainer. "Try this on for size!" she peeped in her tiny voice, and her orange flower glowed green for a moment around the edges. Then, vines erupted from the ground and rushed at the trainer's Ralts.
Flabébé used Vine Whip!

Just as Finn had expected the Flabébé might have been a tiny Pokemon, but it still could pack a punch. The cockiness from Beau's first attack took a few steps back as the vines from the little fairy came charging, striking the Ralts the intended target. The Feelings Pokemon was struck with the vines, but managed to slip his way out from becoming entangled.
"Let's get her back, Beau!" Finn shouted swinging his arm towards the Flabébé's direction. "Use Confusion one more time!" His partner jumped forward, glowing his light blue aura once again. This time he instead of throwing her back, he nudged her forward tossing her little body to the ground near him. "Go give her another Growl!"
Beau listened and executed his trainer's commands, hopping to the Flabébé's tiny body. The sight of a tiny Ralts hovered over an even tinier Flabébé was pretty adorable in Finn's mind, causing him to chuckle a bit before his Ralts let out a cutely, intimidating growl.
As Ralts growled to the grounded fairy Finn untucked one of the free Pokeball's he had received from his starter kit and threw it at Flabébé, hoping for success.

Flabébé - Female - Lvl 3 As she was attacked once more, the Flabébé gave another cry of pain. She had managed to hit the Trainer's Ralts, but it had turned right around from her attack and come back swinging. She had to admit, she hadn't been expecting the red and white ball to come flying at her. He was trying to capture her? Why? She was so weak. No one would want her...but if he was trying to capture her, did that mean he thought she was strong? She wasn't. But...maybe, if she trained with him, she could be.
The ball rolled once, twice, thrice, and clicked shut.
Flabébé caught! All Pokémon in party gained 3 levels! Beau is now Level 8!

Meowth - Male - Lvl 6 Watching from a nearby rock, a golden, feline Pokémon watched the battle with interest. "Wow, veeeery impressive," he yawned, clapping his paws together. "There's not too many great battles that go on around here," he commented, standing to stretch out his body in the sun before hopping off the rock and sauntering over to him. "I need a little help. Would you mind terribly?"

Finn was biting his lip as the Pokeball shook. His heart beating as this were to either be a perfect catch or not on his first attempt in the Sinidad Region. As the ball stopped, Finn exhaled deeply in happiness. "Way to go, Beau! That was a great battle." The trainer retrieved the ball that contained his new partner a sweet, timid Flabébé. "You did an amazing job too this battle," he complimented, proud of his new Pokemon.
Giving his Ralts a well deserving pat on the head, the two heard a voice chime in from the side of them by a nearby rock. The voice belonged to a wild Meowth, who complimented the pair on their battle with Flabébé. Beau nodded in agreement whereas Finn thanked the Meowth out-loud. "Thanks, it was a good battle wasn't it?"
The feline then went on to ask the two a favor, not going into much detail at first. The Feeling Pokemon turned to his trainer, waiting for his response. "If he needs help we should help him. Shouldn't we?"
Nodding his head in agreement Finn turned to the Meowth with a smile, "Sure, what did you need help with?"

Meowth - Male - Lvl 6 "Excellent. You look just like the fellow to help me," the Meowth nodded, and ambled off deeper into the forest. "It's in this direction," he told the trainer, beckoning him to follow after.
"You see," he explained, "There's a certain tree in these woods that bears the most fantastic pink berries. All of the Pokémon in the forest used to feast on the berries - they are simply the best in the entire forest. Pokémon would eat them when they fell from the branches, or would work together to climb the tree and shake them down. There was enough for everybody."
"Unfortunately," the feline Pokémon sighed, "Things haven't been so simple these days. A few weeks ago, a Trainer stopped in the forest and released two of his Pokémon; a pair of Flying Types. They've been calling themselves the Bird Brothers, and they've been nesting in that tree. They attack anyone that tries to eat the berries, and no one can beat them, because they've been specially trained. They've probably seen more battles than most of the Pokémon around these parts. We've got enough to eat - there are plenty of berries growing in other parts of the forest - but we can't get at the best ones anymore, plus the sense of community surrounding the tree."
Finally, the Meowth stopped at the entrance to the clearing and peeked his head over the bush. "This is it," he whispered to Finn. "That's the tree," he pointed with a single, sharp claw at a tall, gnarled tree in the center of the clearing. "I don't see the Brothers," he mused. "Here's what I want you to do. Find a way to get one of the berries hanging in the tree and bring it back to me. Then we can show the other Pokémon in the forest that we can sneak past them, and we can have the community brought to us by the tree back. Be careful, though. We don't know if the Bird Brothers are in hiding or when they'll return. They might show up at any minute."
